"Ah, there goes my life of leisure again." Shinichi lay on the grass beside the Naka River, gazing up at the clear blue sky, his voice tinged with resignation and a faint smile.
He had long since grown used to a carefree life far removed from conflict. But now, with circumstances constantly shifting both inside and outside Konoha, he knew he could no longer remain as unruffled as before.
Beside him, Tsunade reclined on the grass with her head resting against his shoulder. Her gaze was slightly unfocused as she chuckled softly. "You knew it would turn out this way from the start. Why pretend you don't care?"
She stretched and looked up at the sky, a thoughtful glint passing through her eyes.
