At his command, the ever-relaxed Slowking brought its right hand out from behind its back. Its eyes blazed with multicolored light as it pointed at Nidoking. A colorful glow immediately enveloped Nidoking's charging body, locking it in place mid-stride.
"What terrifying psychic power!" Aji gasped. He often had Nidoking spar with Golduck, but he had never seen Golduck's Confusion restrain Nidoking so easily while it was using Superpower. He took a deep breath to calm himself, his mind racing until he quickly found a solution. Afraid Slowking would follow up with another attack, he hurriedly shouted, "Nidoking, Flatter!"

At his command, the colorful light in Slowking's eyes instantly faded. Nidoking, still struggling fiercely in its frozen stride, obeyed and used Flatter, but the moment Confusion released it, its momentum sent it surging forward. Meanwhile, Slowking remained perfectly composed under Flatter's influence, swiftly gathering a blue ball of energy between its hands and hurling it at Nidoking.
"The Oblivious Ability?! Oh no!" From Slowking abruptly ending Confusion and leaving Nidoking off balance to its complete immunity to Flatter, Aji felt as though he were on a roller coaster plunging from the sky toward the ground. His heart leaped into his throat.
Boom! With an explosive blast, Water Pulse struck the charging Nidoking and erupted into a massive torrent, sweeping it backward.
