"Someone with a grudge against me, I take it."
As an accomplished ninja, Sakumo quickly guessed just who was looking for him.
"The only people outside the village who would go out of their way to find me are those with a grudge against me."
"Good guess. Then why don't you guess which of your enemies is coming to trouble you?"
But faced with that question, Sakumo shook his head.
"I have too many enemies. Friends and relatives of people I've killed, people I've clashed with on missions—any one of them could come looking for revenge.
I can't possibly remember all their names. Besides, I don't need to know their names.
All I need to do is kill them when they come to kill me."
"I see. That's just like you, Sakumo. Just what I'd expect from Konoha's White Fang—calm and decisive."
"Calm and decisive?"
Sakumo shook his head and picked up his teacup.
"Anyway, aren't you worried about Konoha at all? Your son Kakashi is still there."
"It's fine. I trust Kakashi will be all right. He's an exceptionally capable and reliable ninja."
At the mention of Kakashi, a hint of a smile finally appeared on Hatake Sakumo's previously uncertain face.
But what he said in the end left Tetsuya baffled.
"Wait, what kind of logic is that, Sakumo? Yes, Kakashi is capable, but that doesn't mean he can do without a father's love.
Especially when he's already grown up without a mother's love."
As he spoke, Tetsuya slapped his thigh.
"Now I get it."
"What do you get?"
Tetsuya rolled his eyes at Hatake Sakumo.
"I finally understand why Kakashi has been so capable since childhood. The kid grew up without a mother, and got stuck with a father like you, always going on about the village and
