Hatake Sakumo had stayed hidden nearby, relying on Huang Bai's Genjutsu to shield him from Sasori's senses. After watching the entire battle, he was left with mixed feelings.
First of all, he recognized that child. Back when he had charged alone deep into Sunagakure's rear lines, he had encountered a couple who looked very much like Sasori. One of them had red hair, too.
Most likely, that couple had been Sasori's parents, and they had died at his hands.
But he did not regret killing them. They had belonged to opposing sides, after all, and both were fighting for their own villages. If he had not killed them and they had reached the front lines as reinforcements, many people from Konoha would have died. Many of Konoha's children would have lost their parents and loved ones. He was merely feeling a little wistful.
What troubled him even more was what Tetsuya had said earlier: Sasori's heart had become twisted because he had lost his father's and mother's love at an early age.
Thinking about it carefully, his own Kakashi was actually in much the same situation as Sasori.
He had lost his mother when he was little, and Sakumo could not spend much time with him, either.
Kakashi had been outstanding since childhood, and this Sasori was clearly a young genius as well.
He had once heard a saying: there was only a fine line between a genius and a madman.
Oh no. Could Kakashi have already gone mad, just like that fellow named Sasori?
Had Kakashi simply not shown it yet?
"Boss Chiba, can I go back and see Kakashi?"
"Of course."
Tetsuya readily agreed, but just as Sakumo was
