Mo Yun went out for a stroll.
The alley was quiet, moonlight spilling over the flagstone path in a faint silver sheen.
Orange light shone through the windows of a few homes. Now and then, a baby's cries drifted out, along with an adult softly humming a lullaby.
After making a circuit, Mo Yun discovered that people were keeping watch in secret around both his sister's home and her shop.
Some crouched at the foot of the wall by the alley entrance, looking like local residents, though their eyes swept this way from time to time.
Others sat at a tea stall across the street, a bowl of long-cold tea in front of them, remaining there for nearly an hour.
Mo Yun narrowed his eyes and studied them closely. Judging by their gazes and subtle movements, they harbored no hostility.
Instead, their eyes held vigilance and a desire to protect.
"They're from the Sky Wolf Gang. Black Wolf really has taken this to heart."
Mo Yun slowly exhaled, a smile appearing on his face.
Since Black Wolf had kept his word so faithfully, he would not mind lending the Sky Wolf Gang a hand if trouble ever came their way.
Returning to the courtyard, Mo Yun walked to its center and began practicing the Tiger-Crouching Stance.
He spread his feet shoulder-width apart, bent his knees slightly, sank his shoulders and elbows, tucked his chest, and stretched his back. His whole body resembled an ancient tree rooted in the earth.
His breathing was long and deep. Guided by his stance training, the medicinal power remaining in his body continued to circulate slowly, seeping into every limb and bone.
Although the Nameless Fist Technique was now his main practice, Mo Yun still spent some time each day in the Tiger-Crouching Stance and
