Power Progression

The following tracks changes in the sect’s documented strength and cultivation resources, rather than an individual disciple’s cultivation.

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Two publicly recognized Martial Saint-level protectors 380 Chen Changsheng and the elderly Blade Saint sustain its Holy Land status. Both are believed to be severely weakened, leaving the sect publicly ranked weakest among the five Holy Lands.
Renewed strength and an additional Blade Saint 385 391 Ge Xuanyi recovers substantial vitality and strength, while Bai Zhi attains Blade Saint status. The sect destroys an invasion led by four Emperor-realm enemies without suffering losses.
Seventh- and eighth-realm cultivation knowledge acquired 407 The Crimson Battle Armor transmits preserved martial cultivation methods to the expedition group, including Chen Changsheng and Ge Xuanyi.
Five-lineage Martial Saint emerges 421 423 Mo Yun perfects all five elemental foundations, unifies their rule power, and reaches early Heaven’s Mandate. Earlier sect history records successful Martial Saints who cultivated two lineages, but none who cultivated more than two 410.

Organization

Lineages and Blade Tower

Division Specialty Fundamental Inheritance / Origin
Metal / White Tiger Slaughter, close combat, and attack power intended to break any defense Geng Metal Art 205
Wood / Azure Dragon Vitality, foundation strengthening, resilience, and recovery; practitioners nurture themselves like spirit plants Azure Wood Eternal Spring Art 205
Water Redirection and change Origin-Returning Art 205 410
Fire Explosive power Burning Art 205 410
Earth Defense Chaos Turbid Defense Art 205 410
Thunder Inherited arts produce thunder-attribute true essence Founded approximately three thousand years earlier by a prodigy who combined Fire and Metal cultivation 204
Wind Inherited arts produce wind-attribute true essence Founded approximately two thousand years earlier by a prodigy who combined Wood and Fire cultivation 204
Blade Tower Blade Dao and a formerly endangered saber inheritance A neighboring institution that voluntarily merged into the sect several hundred years earlier 205
  • Thunder and Wind recruitment: Both require exceptional aptitude and have few disciples. Their successors inherit specialized arts rather than personally repeating their founders’ elemental fusion 204 205.
  • Lineage affiliation: Lin Qingxue initially considers Mo Yun’s existing Metal affiliation an obstacle to entering Thunder or Wind. His eventual goal is instead to cultivate the original elemental foundations 204.
  • Blade Tower autonomy: Ge Xuanyi maintains that the Tower joined only in name and was promised independence. Chen Changsheng disputes this interpretation when both institutions try to claim Mo Yun as their future leader 396.

Disciple Ranks

Rank Documented Requirement Access / Duties
Registered Disciple Dark Force cultivation gives a candidate a chance to enter Successful candidates register at the Servants’ Court and receive identity waist tokens 205 221.

Saint Son / Saintess Rank exists; formal requirements are not specified Cang Yuan and Qing Li hold these positions and are both at peak Primordial Unity during the exchange gathering 381.
  • Entry examination: Cultivation alone does not immediately secure formal membership. Mo Yun receives provisional outer-sect accommodation but must pass an examination one month later 210.
  • Discretionary placement: Li Xinghe allows Lin Qingxue to stay in the outer sect rather than the servants’ quarters because she is expected to reach Transforming Force shortly 210.
  • Early inheritance access: Mo Yun receives Metal legacy arts while still in the outer sect, making his treatment an exception to the usual Inner Disciple restriction 205 230.

Cultivation and Inheritances

Five-Element Foundation

The sect’s philosophy uses the five elements to temper the body, refine the heart, and unite with the Dao of nature 204.

  • Complementary disciplines: The five original lineages combine distinct offensive, defensive, and restorative strengths 205.
  • Multi-lineage fusion: Cultivating two lineages and unifying their momentum can produce a Martial Saint with strength comparable to a Blade Saint. Before Mo Yun, no practitioner cultivating more than two lineages had successfully proved the Dao 410.
  • Advanced foundation: The sect’s sixth-realm fundamental cultivation method is the Five Elements Art, which Chen Changsheng gives Mo Yun before his Martial Saint breakthrough 422.
  • Mo Yun’s synthesis: Mo Yun combines the five lineages’ methods with the Immortal Heaven Art to create the Black and White Scripture. This is his personal method, not an established sect inheritance 422 423.

Metal Lineage Legacy Arts

  • White Tiger Slaughter: An offensive art that tempers true essence into exceptional sharpness. Its principles work with fists, sabers, swords, spears, staffs, and archery; sufficiently developed true essence can form weapons rivaling divine weapons 204 208.
  • Geng Metal Art: The lineage’s fundamental cultivation method. Its Core Condensation portion normally costs 2.2 million merit points; Xiao Changfeng gives it to Mo Yun and later provides its Primordial Unity portion 297 376.
  • Western Extremity War-Lord Visualization: Tempers the soul and develops martial presence, supporting the path toward Core Condensation and Primordial Unity 230 273.
  • Preparatory arts: Tiger-Crouching Fist prepares practitioners for White Tiger Slaughter, while the Demon-Subduing Scripture prepares them for Geng Metal Art 204.

Blade Tower Inheritance

  • Training resources: Practitioners absorb the Tower’s blade momentum and blade intent to improve Blade Dao cultivation. Even after learning stellar cultivation, Mo Yun and Lin Qingxue need to replenish these roughly monthly for efficient progress 420.
  • Ancient origin: The Tower’s mountain and Nine-Story Tower were excavated intact from the ruins by its founding patriarch 263.
  • Repaired legacy: Its once-dangerous inheritance is repaired by the time Mo Yun brings Lin Yanshan back to the sect 423.

Grounds and Facilities

Location / Facility Function
Seven Main Peaks Each houses one lineage; their peaks rise into the clouds 209 210.
Golden Star Peak Metal Lineage grounds, including its inner-sect area 296.
Blade Tower Grounds Located behind the Metal Lineage’s main peak 209.
Suspended Mountain Chen Changsheng’s location when Mo Yun obtains the sixth-realm cultivation method 422.
Divine Battle Hall Venue for challenging the Heavenly Prodigy Ranking 276.
Western Extremity Visualization Secret Realm Accelerates visualization training; normally costs 20,000 merit points per month 288.
Library Provides texts that Mo Yun consults between training sessions 260.
Logistics Office / Courtyard Distributes cultivation allowances and exchanges merit points for supplies 211 410.
Ruins Passage Gives access to ruins existing within space-time turbulence; the sect controls the passage, not the ruins’ separate space-time 404.

Protective Arrays

  • Sect-wide protection: An array covers the entire sect and provides security for disciples within its grounds 297.
  • Peak defenses: Each of the seven main peaks has a protective array. Disciples can reinforce them by channeling true essence, allowing them to withstand several Emperor-level attacks 389.
  • Access control: Arrays separate each peak’s inner and outer areas. Specially inscribed identity waist tokens determine admission 296.
  • Spatial vulnerability: The invasion’s transit gate bypasses the sect-wide protective array, forcing the defenders to rely on the peak arrays and senior experts 389.

History and Major Events

Expansion and Wartime Losses

The sect began with the five elemental lineages. Thunder and Wind emerged later through exceptional practitioners combining existing traditions; the Blade Tower subsequently joined as its inheritance approached extinction 204 205.

More than three hundred years before the exchange gathering, the sect sacrificed three Martial Saints fighting the allied demon armies. Xiao Changfeng states that Chen Changsheng also lost nearly half his primordial spirit light. Ge Xuanyi entered the Devil Abyss and killed three Devil Emperors, helping force the enemy’s withdrawal 383.

Mo Yun’s Admission and Rise

Mo Yun and Lin Qingxue arrive with Lin Yanshan’s recommendation letter. Mo Yun’s Transforming Force cultivation at sixteen earns Li Xinghe’s attention and favorable accommodation, though formal admission still requires the entry examination 210.

Mo Yun’s examination performance attracts competing offers from multiple Vein Masters. He remains with Metal but announces his intention to cultivate several lineages. His later rise to first place on both major disciple rankings makes him central to the sect’s hopes of renewal 224 288 365.

Holy Land Exchange

The sect’s apparent dependence on two failing Saint-level protectors makes its resource privileges vulnerable to rival claims. At the exchange gathering, He Xinian loses to the Heavenly Firmament Sect’s Tang Niu, but Mo Yun—appearing as Yun Mo—decisively defeats him 380 382.

Xiao Changfeng then invokes the sect’s wartime sacrifices and insists that its resources remain lawful while it retains two Martial Saints. The rival sects withdraw from immediate confrontation, though they continue anticipating Ge Xuanyi’s death 383.

Demon and Devil Invasion

Demon and devil forces target sacred relics within the ruins and plan to kill Mo Yun, Yun Mo, and Li Feiyu, not realizing all three are one person. Sect leaders know of the infiltration plot and allow it to proceed to expose human collaborators 386 389.

The defenders annihilate the invading force—two Demon Emperors, two Devil Emperors, several kings, and roughly one hundred fifth-tier demons—without losses. Chen Changsheng, Ge Xuanyi, and Bai Zhi then leave to demand accountability and compensation from the Heavenly Firmament Sect 391 392.

Succession and Refuge

After learning that Mo Yun is under seventeen and already at late Primordial Unity, Chen Changsheng declares him Young Sect Master. Ge Xuanyi and Bai Zhi object because he is also their chosen future Blade Tower Master 396.

Following his Martial Saint breakthrough, Mo Yun relocates his sister, Lin Yanshan, and his Crouching Tiger Manor allies to a large courtyard in the Metal Lineage. The sect’s senior protectors and defensive formation provide a refuge while he takes the war into demon and devil territory 423.
