With the power gone, it naturally entered a state of nothingness. To change that state, it had to leave nothingness and return to reality.
Daochen began experimenting again, using these little creatures to slowly transform some of the power.
As he gradually established communication with them, Daochen finally discovered what made them different.
These worms primarily took in and expelled energy and matter.
The energy they swallowed turned into nothingness, while the energy and matter they expelled were transformed from nothingness.
Under normal circumstances, however, they would never spit out anything they had swallowed.
That required a certain kind of stimulus.
As Daochen gradually discovered this, he began trying to stimulate them and change them.
After countless failures, he finally mastered this ability.
When the little worms gradually changed and began expelling energy, Daochen breathed a deep sigh of relief.
For the first time, he converted this energy into the sage power within his body.
Daochen then began taming them, teaching them to master this instinct.
Whenever Daochen stimulated them, they would feed sage power back to him.
Daochen was thrilled to have mastered this ability. He had gained another channel through which to gather energy.
Unfortunately, each little worm could only take in and expel a limited amount of energy within a given period.
They had to maintain a certain balance.
A worm could not take in and expel energy endlessly. It could only spit out as much as it had swallowed.
He gazed across this entire illusory expanse, a sharp gleam flashing in his eyes.
It was time to bring all these creatures under my control.
Once I subdue them all, the energy at my disposal might be enough for me to break through.
