Lin Aofan gritted his teeth and swung the wooden stick hard again, finally striking the snake's body.
The heavy blow finally made the snake retreat. It loosened its coils around Lin Aofan's arm and quickly slipped into the grass.
Lin Aofan breathed a sigh of relief, but by then, he could already feel his body growing weaker and his consciousness fading.
He tried to stand, only to find that his legs were too weak to support his weight. He forced himself to take two steps before collapsing to the ground.
"Help! Help! Is anyone there?"
Lin Aofan shouted at the top of his lungs. He began to regret sending away the cameraman assigned to follow him, his heart filled with fear and despair.
That snake had to be venomous! Was he going to die? He didn't want to die at all!
Despite his mounting panic, Lin Aofan's eyelids grew heavier and heavier. Eventually, everything went black, and he lost consciousness.
At first, Lu Xiaoxiao and the others hadn't thought much of Lin Aofan's disappearance.
It wasn't until nearly sunset, when the cameraman who had been following Lin Aofan stumbled into the crowd shouting that he couldn't find him, that everyone realized how serious the situation was.
Ye Xinglan frowned and asked the cameraman, "What happened? How did you lose track of him?"
The cameraman was so frantic he was nearly in tears, his explanation jumbled and incoherent. "He... he said he needed to use the bathroom! I didn't think much of it, so I went to wait on the other side. I waited ages and never heard him call me. I thought he was constipated, so I kept waiting! B-but then I searched all around and couldn't find him anywhere!"
"It's almost dark. Where... where could he have gone?
