Sweet little wife? What the hell?

Bai Chen had to admit he was a little shocked. Those two had met today.

He was a little pleased, too. Had what he told Gu Yun last time actually worked?

But then he remembered that headline from earlier, and instantly sensed the bloodbath coming today.

What was this nonsense about Young Master Gu's sweet little wife?

So cringeworthy!

Never mind whether he was sweet or not-with Gu Yun's build, he hardly fit the description of a little wife.

Suddenly, Bai Chen really wanted to find some random hotel outside and make do for the night.

Gu Cheng loved taking his temper out on him at the slightest provocation. He really couldn't handle it.

Seeing Bai Chen look as if he wanted to say something but held back, Lin Sen was intensely curious, too.

"I have a feeling tonight's going to be another sleepless night." Lin Sen suddenly patted Bai Chen on the shoulder.

He looked like a man resigned to his impending doom.

So he knew all along!

Bai Chen had thought he was the only one who could tell there was something off about Gu Cheng's feelings for Gu Yun. Apparently, Lin Sen had noticed, too.

The way Bai Chen suddenly stared at him gave Lin Sen the creeps, and he clicked his tongue.

"How could I not get it? No matter how straight or clueless I am, I can still tell there's something weird going on between those two, okay?"

In truth, he really hadn't noticed before. He had always thought they were all just buddies.

Until today, when Bai Chen was out of the dorm and Gu Yun was the only one sitting in a chair reading. Lin Sen happened to have nothing to do that day, either.

So he had slept in for an extra hour. It was during that very hour that he heard Gu Cheng's voice.

He hadn't paid it any mind and had gone back to sleep.

Gu Cheng said he wanted to be friends with Gu Yun.

There was nothing strange about wanting to be friends. Lin Sen hadn't thought much of it at the time, assuming the two hadn't seen much of each other before.

After all, Gu Cheng was almost never in the dorm.

Who would have guessed that, a moment later, he would hear something being thrown onto the floor?

Then he heard Gu Yun's voice, his tone sharp. "Take your trash with you."

After those words came the sound of the door opening and closing.

Gu Yun had left.

It was quiet-so quiet that Lin Sen thought he was the only one there.

He poked his head out from behind his bed curtains. He didn't understand it, either. Wasn't it just an offer of friendship? Did Gu Yun really have to get that angry?

What disagreement couldn't be settled over a meal?

If one meal wasn't enough, then two.

He would never have known if he hadn't looked, but once he did, he got quite a shock.

The thing on the floor was none other than a beautifully wrapped bouquet of roses.

Roses??

Uh, what?!

Lin Sen no longer had words to describe his expression upon seeing that bouquet.

Shocked, dazed...

If I remember right, red roses mean passionate love-a desire to ignite a passionate romance with you.

That has absolutely nothing to do with friendship. Red roses are flowers of romantic love, through and through!!

Is Gu Cheng confessing to Gu Yun?!

How has our dorm produced a couple after just a few months? How are Bai Chen and I supposed to survive? We're two lonely singles. Watching those two get all lovey-dovey would be so awkward.

In just a few seconds, Lin Sen imagined all four years of dorm life at university.

For example, Gu Cheng and Gu Yun getting up to naughty things in the dorm, forcing him and Bai Chen, the two poor singles, out onto the streets.

Or the two of them feeding each other bites of food, while Bai Chen and he could only sit on their beds and suffer through the lovey-dovey display.

Oh, God!!

What the hell kind of life is this? Why are they pairing up within the dorm??

I really can't go on living like this.

Lin Sen suddenly raised his head and said, "I think the dorm's going to be pretty lively tonight."

Bai Chen nodded gravely. "Probably."

"Then how about we get a hotel room and make do for one night? Let's escape tonight's disaster first."

For a moment, Bai Chen desperately wanted to agree to Lin Sen's suggestion. But when he thought about leaving Gu Yun alone in the dorm with Gu Cheng, it suddenly seemed a little dangerous.

After some thought, he shook his head firmly. "Forget it. It's a waste of money."

Bai Chen was telling the truth. Although the original owner of this body had plenty of money, none of it belonged to him.

So he avoided spending it whenever he could. Anything he spent would have to be paid back, and there was no need for that.

Lin Sen immediately patted his chest and declared proudly, "I'll cover everything today. I'll book a twin room. Just think of it as keeping me company. No pressure."

Bai Chen was quite grateful to hear that, but he still refused right away.

Lin Sen's family owned many companies, including the largest clothing company in City A, so he naturally had no shortage of money.

But Bai Chen didn't want to owe anyone anything. Even if they didn't expect him to pay them back, he would still feel terribly guilty.

"Huh? Why? Do you want to be their third wheel? Do you want to sit through all their lovey-dovey crap?"

Faced with three questions in a row, Bai Chen didn't know which to answer first. All he could do was smile awkwardly.
