Lin Jingchen had already lifted his left foot to leave, but he stepped back.
Lin Xiaoqian studied her younger brother, looking him up and down, hoping to spot something different about him.
"Jingchen, you've been acting a little strange lately!"
Lin Jingchen: "..."
He sighed helplessly and said, "Sis, just ask whatever you want to ask. You don't have to look at me like that."
Seeing her brother react that way, Lin Xiaoqian burst out laughing, growing more delighted by the second.
Sitting with her legs crossed, Lin Xiaoqian looked at Lin Jingchen in front of her and asked, "Do you like one of my students? Do you?"
She already had an inkling who it was, but she still wanted to hear her brother say it himself.
After all, she had never seen him like this before. When had he ever been so impatient?
At her words, Lin Jingchen lowered his eyes and murmured, "Yes," without denying it.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" Lin Xiaoqian asked.
Although she didn't mind either way, she still hoped it was a girl.
If it was a boy, their father would never agree. Getting through that would be far too painful.
"A boy," Lin Jingchen said evenly.
"It's Bai Chen, isn't it?" Lin Xiaoqian asked.
Lin Jingchen: "Yes."
"What about him?"
Lin Jingchen looked a little downcast. "He doesn't know."
Then something suddenly occurred to him, and the light returned to his eyes. "But I'll do everything I can to win his affection. I won't force him. If he doesn't accept me, then... then I'll let go."
Although he liked Bai Chen, he didn't want to force his feelings on him.
"Then how will you explain it to Dad?" That was still Lin Xiaoqian's biggest concern.
Lin Jingchen hadn't even considered that.
