Before leaving, Bai Chen got the elderly traditional Chinese doctor's permission to take a picture of the photograph. He needed at least a photo if he was going to find someone.
He held his phone, studying the young woman from Miao territory on its screen.
She looked so much like her. She really did. Her eyes and brows carried that same resilience Bai Xi had.
Had Bai Xi really come here? Had she come too?
Was it really her?
Bai Chen didn't dare draw any conclusions before meeting the young woman. After all, the original owner of his body had looked very much like him, aside from their height.
He needed to hurry back to G University, ask his counselor for leave right away, pack his things, and head to Miao territory.
It was only noon. If he managed to get leave approved, he could still buy a ticket for an afternoon flight.
He ran out of the alley, hailed a taxi by the roadside, and quickly got in.
"Where to, young man?" the driver asked.
"G University, please. Thank you," Bai Chen said, steadying his breathing.
"Sure."
Half an hour later, the taxi slowly pulled up outside G University's main entrance.
After paying, Bai Chen went to find his counselor first and asked for an extended leave of three days.
He didn't know whether that would be enough time, but he would get the leave approved first.
If it wasn't enough, he could message their counselor and ask for a few more days.
Back at the dorm, Bai Chen grabbed a few changes of clothes from his wardrobe and stuffed them into his backpack.
Just as he was about to leave the dorm, Gu Yun and Li Xingzhu suddenly returned.
It was Sunday. Li Xingzhu had made a
