As a young man with ideals, he still couldn't accept doing anything necessary to complete a mission, especially killing ordinary people.
He felt little psychological pressure about killing fellow ninja. After all, who became a ninja without getting blood on their hands? In this world, the only ordinary people with the means to do much wrong were the wealthy.
Or the troublemakers in Konoha. As for everyone else, even if they had such thoughts, they hardly had the chance to act on them.
The other three reacted differently.
Sakura came from a civilian family, and as a girl, she was compassionate, so she showed some emotion.
Seeing others get hurt might have reminded Naruto of his own past, and some emotion showed on his face as well.
Sasuke, on the other hand, showed no reaction at all. He had suffered far worse, after all, and there was no need to force a reaction out of him.
Besides, Luo Mang was the one who had crossed into this world. It was his mindset that didn't fit. He would become strong and change things, though perhaps that was impossible too. Forget it. Doing what he could right now would at least ease his conscience.
"What do we do now?"
Naruto looked away from the retreating figures and asked Luo Mang.
"What else? Deal with the Bandit Stronghold."
Sasuke rolled his eyes. What other choice did they have now? Were they supposed to just leave?
"Didn't some of them leave this morning? They might come back. Sakura, why don't you go down the mountain with the captives? You can protect them in case something happens."
