Eunuch Changshun nodded, his voice strained. "That fiend's martial prowess is unfathomable. Had he not walked into the Eastern Depot of his own accord, our men would probably have struggled to capture him."
"Are you speaking of Yu Xingmian, Eunuch?" Two heads suddenly poked out from behind them, startling Jiang Yingcheng so badly that her whole body jolted.
Eunuch Changshun turned around. "Do you know him, Master Liaochen?"
"Not personally." Liaochen nodded slightly. "But calling him a fiend is somewhat unfair."
Jiang Yingcheng and Eunuch Changshun exchanged a glance, then wordlessly ushered Liaochen between them. "Please sit, Uncle Liaochen!"
She made a great show of sweeping her sleeve over the bench several times, then eagerly guided Uncle Liaochen into a seat.
Liaochen comfortably accepted the cup of tea the little girl handed him and said with serene composure, "The Ink Rain Association that Yu Xingmian founded was initially just an organization that sold intelligence. Later, because it possessed far too much information, the orthodox factions joined forces to brand it a Demon Cult, intending to tear it out by the roots."
"That's right," Zhong Chengwang chimed in. "My master told me the same thing."
