"Which way next?"
A man's clear, mellow voice rang out through the empty mountain wilderness, the words forced through gritted teeth.
"That way, that way." Jiang Yingcheng looked up from the route map filling her screen and pointed casually. "That little flower over there is very beautiful."
A moment later, she gave Ying Sinan's arms two hard smacks. "Uncle, what's with that attitude?"
Her bright little voice was full of accusation. "You were the one who said Chengcheng could ask for anything she wanted!"
Ying Sinan drew a deep breath and lowered his gaze to the handful of colorful wildflowers clutched in the little girl's hand.
There were hardly any pretty flowers or plants in the mountains in early spring. That she had managed to gather even this small bunch owed much to her miraculous ability to call every flower she saw "beautiful."
But...
Ying Sinan tried to reason with her. "You do realize we're getting farther and farther away from every treasure-hunting spot, don't you?"
We are not.
Jiang Yingcheng thought smugly to herself.
We're clearly getting closer and closer to the real treasure site!
She tipped up her little face, smiled sweetly at Ying Sinan, who was carrying her, and opened her mouth to say-
"It's fine~ Wealth is just a worldly possession. Chengcheng isn't interested in it at all!"
Righteous words, delivered with ringing conviction.
Her tone and gaze were both exceptionally sincere.
They prompted the officials to cast one indescribable look after another at her.
She really dared to say it...
If they hadn't all been able to hear her thoughts, that extraordinarily sincere little face might genuinely have fooled them!
"Hurry, hurry!" Jiang Yingcheng urged. "Go over there!"
And so he started walking.
"Wow, let's go left next! The air on the left seems fresher!"
