Outside Louis's room, Bradley, Sif, Lambert, and several personal guards waited anxiously.
Although they had already seen Louis wake up.
With something this sudden, even seeing him "awake" could not completely dispel their worries.
They exchanged glances, but all knew better than to barge in. They could only wait by the door.
Fortunately, they did not have to wait long. About an hour later, the door opened with a click.
Louis walked out slowly. He still looked a little tired and pale, but otherwise, he seemed no different from usual.
Everyone crowded around him.
"Lord Louis, how are you feeling?"
"What exactly happened?"
"Are you uncomfortable anywhere?"
He waved a hand, his voice as calm as ever. "Nothing serious. I suppose... I just got distracted, took a tumble, and passed out."
Everyone fell silent.
The corner of Lambert's mouth twitched. He wanted to say something, but swallowed his words in the end.
Sif wore an expression that said, Do you really expect me to believe that?
Finally, Bradley sighed. "In any case, all that matters is that you're safe, my lord."
"Bradley, prepare a banquet tonight," Louis instructed. "Use the meat from that Ice-veined Giant Snake. Have all the knights attend and let them eat as much as they can."
Bradley froze. "My lord, you've only just woken up. Your health..."
"I'm fine," Louis interrupted calmly. "Besides, I already promised them a feast with the giant snake's meat."
He paused, lowering his voice a little. "And word of my sudden collapse must have spread by now. Rather than let them worry themselves sick, I might as well show up so everyone can see me."
Bradley fell silent for a moment, then finally nodded. "Understood. I'll make the arrangements right away."
Louis turned around, then casually added, "Oh, and cut off
