Louis led the others into the demon marrow factory, and a pungent alchemical smell immediately hit them.
He raised a hand in greeting. "Good morning."
In the corner, Silco, sporting heavy dark circles beneath his eyes, listlessly looked up at the hateful slave driver.
"Good morning, my lord." A hint of complaint colored his voice as he casually handed over a fist-sized earthenware jar.
Louis took the heavy jar. It looked plain and unremarkable, with a strip of linen sticking out of its mouth, and was so crude it might have been slapped together on a whim.
He frowned. "That's it?"
Silco explained languidly, "Don't let its ordinary appearance fool you. It's full of dangerous stuff.
"Demon marrow, Ice Armor Bear crystal fragments, fire tindergrass-packed to the brim.
"It packs quite a punch. Of course, give me more time, and I could make it more refined and even more powerful."
"If you say so, let's try one." Louis raised his eyebrows and looked toward the testing ground, which was already prepared.
Several magical beasts were tied up around the grounds, struggling and roaring uneasily.
The knights put on specially made protective masks, lit the fuse, and threw the Demonflame Bomb.
The earthenware jar spun through the air, tracing an arc before landing squarely in the center of the testing ground.
BOOM!!
Stage one: freezing blast!
The instant the Demonflame Bomb burst, blue light flashed. The Ice Armor Bear crystals shattered, releasing a current of extreme cold!
The air abruptly contracted, as though an invisible hand had seized the entire space and yanked it tight.
Frost instantly coated the magical beasts' fur, and their limbs curled inward, twitching.
Then the powerful suction dragged them bodily toward the heart of the explosion!
They let out piercing howls, hooves and claws scrabbling wildly
