Several curse shells struck a corner of the wall. Magical corruption spread like vines, and a section of the wall finally collapsed with a thunderous crash.

A breach had opened!

"Charge! Take it!" Barnes roared, his voice carrying across the battlefield.

The Snow Oath forces poured through the breach like a flood.

The defending Knights immediately engaged them, trying to seal the gap.

But they soon discovered that the advancing Snow Oath formation offered no openings.

An Official Knight raised his sword and charged. A moment later, a spear pierced his armor and hurled him from his saddle.

He struggled to rise, only for a second spear to punch straight through his chest and pin him to the flagstones.

As the battle line pushed onward, screams rang out on both flanks. The Wolf Riders had circled around and struck, tearing open the defenses in the streets and alleys.

The Knights guarding the streets tried to hold them at an alley entrance, but were crushed within minutes. Amid the flames along the street, only the sound of wolf hooves trampling corpses remained.

The fiercest carnage unfolded east of the main gate.

A veteran unit of the Northern Frontier Knights stationed there became embroiled in a melee. At first, their formation held firm, and they could still mount counterattacks.
