"What do we do, then?" Luo Xiaohong sounded a little deflated. "We can't just do everything, escape successfully, and then turn ourselves in at the police station, can we?"
After saying that, she grabbed at her hair in frustration, trying to calm herself down.
Then she realized everyone's eyes were on her again.
Half a second later, Luo Xiaohong perked up. "I'm a genius!"
"Let's do that." Jian Li nodded.
Everyone else answered at once, "Okay."
The director listening in front of the monitors nearly laughed himself to death.
"What? They're going to do everything?! And successfully escape afterward?!"
"Even if they're underestimating the other guests, shouldn't they at least consider the dragnet we've set up?!"
Those weren't just extras.
They were well-trained military veterans-or at least, that was what the production coordinator had said.
There had to be a limit to their shameless boasting!
But soon, he stopped laughing.
Because Jian Li and his gang had already begun drawing up a remarkably convincing plan.
"I'll rob the bank because I hate schools. All that chatter is noisy." Jian Li was the first to raise his hand and announce his assignment. "A bank robbery works best with two people: one to bag the money, one to watch the hostages. Who wants to partner with me?"
No one answered.
Except Huo Xiao, who craned his neck to make his presence known.
His intentions couldn't have been more obvious.
"I will." His lips curved. "I promise I won't hold you back."
Jian Li said, "..."
I still haven't recovered from the trauma of being at your house!
"I'll handle the school." Luo Xiaohong loosened up her fingers, her eyes turning fierce. "I'm an expert at whipping students into shape!"
After all, she ran a sect, with disciples filling an entire mountain.
How could she not have a little teaching experience?!
"Then shall we kidnap the mayor?" Shi Huayi exchanged a glance with Zhou Nan. "The two of us know a thing or two about how government departments work."
Hearing that, Yuan Feng immediately raised his arm. "Leave the getaway to me! I guarantee I'll be there to pick you up right away!"
"Good!" Jian Li nodded and looked down at his watch. "Let's synchronize our watches first. We need to finish within three hours. Make it quick wherever possible."
Yuan Feng looked puzzled. "Why?"
"Because in three hours," Jian Li said with complete seriousness, "it's our lunch break. We need to eat."
"Oh, right, right!"
"Food is serious business!"
"We'll get the job done!"
The fans watching the livestream burst out laughing in the comments at their conversation.
[Haha, foodies through and through! Being a criminal is their job, eating is their soul!]
[Finishing the mission in three hours just so they can chow down?! Why do these criminals seem like they're here to play?!]
[They're pretty cocky. Who knows how good they actually are? Hope they don't drop the ball and get caught the second they step outside!]
[Didn't that happen before? A new guest swore they were going to challenge the regulars, only to get beaten so badly they saw stars and slink away in disgrace.]
[Pfft, I remember that episode. Apparently it gave the challenger nightmares afterward. Wait, the criminals have already made their move?!]
[Holy shit, they're moving that fast?! And nobody's spotted them?!]
Jian Li threaded his way through the shopping street, slipping into the crowds of tourists whenever he could.
By the time he emerged again, he'd changed his entire look.
Even the cameraman following him failed to recognize him and stood on tiptoe, looking around aimlessly for him.
Wearing a baseball cap and dark sunglasses, Jian Li walked into the café opposite the bank.
He ordered a coffee and took a leisurely sip.
After spotting a familiar figure, he pushed open the café's glass door.
Crossing the bustling street, Jian Li stopped outside the bank. Under the security guard's gaze, he caught a heavy weapon tossed to him in a low arc, slipped sideways through the revolving door, and smashed the alarm.
"What are you doing?!"
"Bang, bang-" Jian Li held the weapon in one hand and aimed at the guard's forehead. "You're dead."
"Staff, put a marker on him."
The extra, who had only just gotten into character, said, "..."
What the hell?! Wasn't I supposed to get three lines?!
While he was still bewildered, Jian Li had already taken control of the entire bank.
Behind him, Huo Xiao moved to the counter in perfect sync and tossed a sack through.
"Fill it."
One wore a black hood; the other wore sunglasses and a baseball cap.
Every movement carried the same cold-blooded, merciless edge.
They almost made everyone feel as though they were being robbed by real, desperate outlaws.
The teller picked up the sack with trembling hands. As she pretended to gather the money, she reached down with her other hand.
The alarm was right by her knee.
Just a little farther and she could...
"Move again, and I'll shoot you in the head." Huo Xiao kept it brief. His replica weapon was already pressed against the teller's forehead, instantly ratcheting up the pressure.
"You don't want your part to end this early, do you?" After a pause, he added that last sentence, hitting the extra right where it hurt.
The teller immediately became cooperative. "There isn't much cash here, but there's a batch of gold in the vault."
"The manager has the key."
Behind the monitors, the director said, "...Are you fucking working with them?!"
He turned and demanded, "Who hired her?!"
The assistant stammered, "Director, college student extras are cheap, so..."
Hearing the teller spill the beans, Jian Li swept his gaze around with his replica gun in hand. "Who's the manager?"
Everyone there was crouching on the floor with their hands over their heads. No one dared answer.
A fat man was doing his best to make himself invisible, trying to hide behind a pillar. But just as he shifted his backside over, he suddenly felt a shadow loom above him.
The fat man instinctively looked up and saw the bank robber wearing sunglasses, his lips curled into a wicked grin.
"Mr. Manager, come with me."
The fat man hurriedly waved his hands. "I'm not! You've got the wrong person!"
Jian Li pointed the muzzle at the name badge on the fat man's chest. "Hello there, Manager Wang Fugui."
The fat man said, "..."
Thanks. I've officially stunned myself with my own stupidity.
The director said, "..."
This one has to be a fucking college student too!
In another livestream, the Hunters were still searching everywhere. They had questioned several informants without finding any trace of the criminals.
Lu Yuanhang was a little dissatisfied. "It's been almost half an hour, and we've made no progress. If we keep performing like this, won't we end up at the bottom of the rankings?!"
Young and hotheaded, Xu Qi immediately bristled at that. "What's complaining going to do? None of us are sitting around. If you're so good, go find them yourself!"
"Is that any way to treat a guest star?" Lu Yuanhang pouted. "Don't you know how we got here?!"
Xu Qi was about to snap back, but the team captain, Chen Yifan, stopped him. "Don't fight among yourselves. Let's find..."
Before he could finish, a voice came over the radio. "A Bank has been robbed. Losses exceed ten million. The robbers have escaped, and their direction of escape is unknown!"
Hearing the report, the Hunters exchanged stunned looks.
What the hell?!
It hadn't even been half an hour, and they'd already finished robbing a bank?!
