Mr. C explained Raphael's assignment in detail. Miss S, the Aurora Order's Oracle in charge of the industrial city of Conston, had learned of some ancient ruins from a notebook. She had followed the clues and finally pinpointed their location in Backlund's western suburbs.
Since a Saint had been following the matter closely, Mr. C, as the person in charge of Backlund, had provided Miss S with some assistance and sent several people to help her.
But on the second day after Miss S entered the ruins, those people returned, saying that she was trapped inside.
Mr. C immediately sent people to rescue her, but they discovered a powerful seal within the ruins. Whatever lay inside the seal seemed very dangerous.
So Mr. C prepared to organize another rescue party. He had originally intended to send two people, with Raphael being only one of them.
However, the Aurora Order's members in Backlund came under attack from the Mandated Punishers first. The other member who had been assigned to rescue Miss S was killed, leaving Raphael to go alone.
