The Forsaken Land of the Gods.
Amon and Klein chatted as they strode forward.
But their conversation left Klein rather shocked. He asked Amon, "Why is a wisp of the Oldest One's consciousness inside Raphael?"
"You'll have to ask the Oldest One about that," Amon replied seriously.
Klein smiled. I'd like to live a couple more years.
"But Adam and I have a few theories-" Amon added.
Klein grumbled inwardly, Can't you say it all in one go?
Amon continued, "-the Oldest One's main consciousness is still asleep, but for an existence at that level, our ideas of 'sleeping' and 'waking' probably can't accurately describe his state.
"So our theory is that, although he's asleep, that doesn't prevent him from observing this world."
Klein nodded, finding Amon's view quite reasonable. In other words, the Oldest One's consciousness inside Raphael was his eye for observing the world.
Amon suddenly asked, "Do you know what that means?"
Only at this question did Klein seem to realize something. "It means the Oldest One is about to awaken again!"
His own thought immediately frightened him, because the Oldest One's awakening would trigger another destruction of the world.
He couldn't help thinking, Could the Apocalypse in a dozen or so years refer to the Oldest One's awakening?
Then Klein answered his own question inwardly. It's not impossible. The barrier the Oldest One left behind is already riddled with holes. Perhaps the moment it completely shatters will be the moment he awakens again.
In an instant, Klein felt lost and hopeless. He knew perfectly well that no one had the power to stop a catastrophe of that magnitude.
After taking several deep breaths, Klein, still somewhat dispirited, asked, "Does Raphael know about this?"
"From what I've observed, he should be communicating with that wisp of consciousness,
