Clearly, the deity could have killed Zed, but had instead tortured him until he was barely alive. And this priest, a Devil, had become utterly terrified of the deity.
Though he was already extremely weak, he asked Speaker Dohaden to have people carry him to the Giant King's youngest son, lest he keep the deity waiting.
Dohaden agreed, knowing that a deity like this was not to be trifled with.
Everyone was once again shrouded in fear of a deity.
Yet that fear brought them secret joy, because they would once again live under an evil god's brutal rule.
In a place like the Forsaken Land of the Gods, having a deity's protection was a blessing, even if that deity was an evil god.

At dinner, Raphael sampled several dishes prepared by the chef. They all tasted quite good.
Raphael had already noticed that the Loen Kingdom's upper classes enjoyed exquisite, delicious food, while ordinary people's meals were extremely coarse.
Most ordinary people in Backlund liked to drink tea with their meals. First, it helped soften the bread in their mouths, since most people's bread was rather hard. If it was too soft, it would not keep them full for long.
Besides, after nearly a century of industrial pollution, Backlund's water had become very unpleasant to drink.
There were no other beverages available to them, either, so they drank tea to mask the strange taste of the water.
But "Raphael the tycoon" began tonight's dinner with an aperitif, followed by fruit, seafood soup, a side dish, a main course, and more, served one course at a
