Emlyn White was a little surprised to see that his visitor was Raphael. He set down the doll and its dress, then asked Raphael, "What brings you here?"
Raphael withdrew his gaze from the doll. "Happy New Year."
He was wondering whether coming to Emlyn for help had been the right choice.
Raphael also had two Puppets, but he only played with them occasionally. He had been a little busy lately and had not spoken to those two Puppets for some time.
But Emlyn White's attitude toward his dolls seemed rather different from Raphael's attitude toward his Puppets. Judging by his expression, Emlyn was somewhat obsessed with these dolls. They did not seem to be merely something he played with.
As someone with a somewhat twisted mind himself, Raphael was in no position to criticize Emlyn, but he still felt that this hobby was a little childish and eccentric.
After turning the matter over in his mind, however, Raphael reminded himself that whatever Emlyn's hobbies were, he was a genuine Sequence 5. There was no doubt about that.
So, after Emlyn returned his "Happy New Year," Raphael sat down opposite him. "There's something I need your help with."
Emlyn looked a little surprised. "You need my help?"
Why not ask Miss Justice or Miss Judgment? Or the World-oh, right, the World is in the Forsaken Land of the Gods. He can't help.
Raphael said, "Some time ago, I found a lead on some ruins from the early Fourth Epoch. I've already found two Sequence 5s to explore them with me.
"But I don't know those two Sequence 5s very well, so I'd like you to come along to discourage them from trying to keep all the Beyonder spoils for themselves."
Although the people Dwayne Dantès had found were unlikely to
