After finishing his conversation with Audrey and returning to the villa, Raphael frequently visited the Dark Hut to observe the Demon living on the outskirts of Backlund.
Two days later, Raphael finally noticed the official Beyonders making their move.
They had used some method to conceal themselves from the Demon's perception.
Although Malice Perception was a damned troublesome ability, once its characteristics were understood, there were still quite a few ways to circumvent it.
However, these methods required help from higher sequences. For example, certain saints could conceal the malice of mid-sequence Beyonders, preventing Devils or Desire Apostles from detecting it in advance.
Dealing with a Demon required help at the angel level.
The Beyonders' operation this time had probably received assistance from an angel of the Church of the Evernight Goddess. The two Beyonders keeping watch seemed perpetually hidden in darkness; neither the people nor the creatures around them noticed their presence.
Since surveillance had begun, their operation could not be far off.
Raphael began entering the Dark Hut every half hour to inspect the surroundings.
Finally, when night fell, Beyonders began gathering outside the manor where the Demon lived.
Meanwhile, the Demon was still torturing a maid in his dungeon, clearly unaware of the approaching danger.
As far as Raphael was concerned, this Demon absolutely could not be captured. Only if the official Beyonders failed to catch him could he continue serving as Raphael's scapegoat.
Inside the Dark Hut, Raphael smiled faintly and copied the scene of the official Beyonders lying in ambush outside, preparing to place it inside the crystal representing the Demon-
