Cooperation with the Demoness Sect (one-third of the chapter takes place on the Western Continent)
Florence, the Demoness of Despair, had originally intended to first demand why Raphael was using members of the Demoness Sect to run an assassination organization.
Whatever answer Raphael gave, it would provide grounds for taking a share of that Beyonder organization.
Yet Raphael had refused to follow the course she had planned for their conversation. Instead, he had started talking about compensation for the coffee table.
This weakened Florence's imposing air once again. By the time Raphael asked what she wanted, she no longer had any basis for taking a forceful stance. "I want the Demoness Sect to run that assassination organization."
Raphael refused outright. "Impossible."
Florence responded, "Then Sophia cannot continue working for you. Otherwise-"
Raphael pointed his index finger at her and cut her off. "Just try laying a finger on Sophia! I'll make the Demoness Sect disappear from Backlund forever!"
Sophia, standing beside them, knew she should not smile at a time like this, but she could not help letting a sweet smile spread across her face.
Florence watched Raphael in silence. She knew he had the power to do it, and that he was not joking.
She drew a deep breath and compromised again. "I hope we can discuss this calmly."
"I have no problem with a discussion," Raphael said. "But you keep threatening me, and you're trying to encroach on my interests!"
He paused, then continued, "Don't give me any of that nonsense about Sophia being a member of the Demoness Sect. She should have left the sect the moment you treated her as expendable all those years ago."
Florence did not immediately reply. Instead, she folded her arms and considered for a moment before saying, "I would like Sophia to help us run an Assassin Company too."
She thought the Assassin Company's format was
