Raphael sat bolt upright and looked around in confusion.
An intermittent voice sounded in his ears, as though someone were talking quietly next door, or murmuring out in the street.
Raphael could not make out what the person was saying. He only felt that it was important, and that he needed to listen carefully.
He hurried out of bed to find the source of the voice, only to suddenly realize that it was far too quiet here!
The town was surrounded by primeval forest, a lush rainforest at that, yet not a single animal could be heard at night!
Were they all asleep too?
Raphael cautiously approached the window and looked out at the street. There was no one there, but the intermittent voice persisted.
He glanced at the woods outside town. Just then, his spirituality sensed something, and he looked up at the sky.
The round crimson moon was enormous! Brilliant!
It seemed larger and brighter than it should have been!
Raphael's expression grew grave. An anomaly like this usually meant something was definitely wrong.
He immediately brought his "Main Account" online to check for danger nearby.
Before long, his "Main Account" "sent" Raphael an image.
There were two Raphaels in the image. One, solid and tangible, lay asleep in bed. The other, somewhat illusory, stood before the window. Ripples like those on water surrounded the illusory Raphael, making even the space around him seem unreal.
Raphael froze for a moment and hurriedly glanced at the bed. No one was there-
Then he broke into a rueful smile, understanding what the image from his "Main Account" meant. He was currently inside a dream, while his physical body remained asleep in the real world.
Raphael looked out at the street again. A new question arose: whose dream was this?
