Raphael-no, "Devil" Collins-was stunned by the sight before him. A modern city had appeared right in front of him.
The pedestrians were all dressed like people from the Common Era. Cars drove along the roads, spewing exhaust with a smell that "Devil" Collins found familiar.
For a moment, "Devil" Collins noticed that the passersby were all giving him strange looks.
Something seemed to occur to him, and he looked himself over. Sure enough, he was still wearing Loen-style clothes, completely out of place among his surroundings.
Suddenly, "Devil" Collins laughed. "What? Are you letting me take another look at my hometown?"
Several burly men in white coats answered him. "Everyone, get out of the way! A mental patient has escaped!"
"Move, move! He's dangerous! He thinks he lives in a world with Beyonder abilities and often hurts the people around him."
As they spoke, the burly men surrounded "Devil" Collins and restrained him with handcuffs.
"Devil" Collins tried several times, but he couldn't sense any spirituality around him, so he couldn't use his Beyonder abilities.
One of the men said, "Looks like you're lucid right now. Hurry up and take your medicine. Once you take it, you won't have hallucinations anymore."
"That's right, take your medicine. Everything in that other world is a hallucination. Don't let the people in those hallucinations fool you."
"Devil" Collins dazed out again, but then a disdainful smile appeared on his face. "Honestly, for a moment there, I almost believed your bullshit.
"The only reason I believed it was that you really did touch on the most vulnerable place in my heart."
He took a deep breath. "Yeah, look around. Who would want to go to that dangerous world of mysteries when they could live in a world with such material abundance and advanced technology?"
