An indescribable silence settled over his surroundings.
Raphael could not say where he was. There was nothing here except a clear pool, the "Source of Curses." All around it lay seemingly illusory darkness, empty yet somehow containing limitless space.
Although Raphael's heart seemed filled with endless madness and evil thoughts, he simply stood quietly within the phantom image of the "Source of Curses," unwilling to move.
Being a Beyonder is so exhausting. You have to keep digesting potions and advancing, while constantly fighting old bastards like the Oldest One.
Why be a Beyonder at all? Why not just be an ordinary person?
No, that won't work either. An ordinary person's life is too stifling.
The next second, the despondent Raphael suddenly thought, This world is still beautiful. Since fighting potions is so exhausting, and fighting those old monsters of the Beyonder world is so exhausting, why not crush all the madness and distortion in the Beyonder world?
And crush those old bastards while I'm at it!
But soon, Raphael's arrogance and optimism gradually faded, replaced by anger. Damn this world! Why do Beyonder powers have to exist? Why do I have to suffer all this?
Raphael had no idea how long his emotions had run out of control before something appeared, one after another, in the surrounding void-
Points of starlight.
First, he heard a prayer. "Father of Devils, Lord of Misfits, Source of Curses-"
Once the first voice sounded, more voices surged toward him like a tide, surrounding Raphael.
"Praise the Lord of Evil Desires, who let us leave the Forsaken Land of the Gods."
"Praise the Lord of Evil Desires, who gave us a new home.
""
The voices that followed grew increasingly mixed.
"Look, there are little animals in that tree."
"The locals say those are squirrels."
