Raphael was using his spirituality to examine the new abilities he had gained after advancing to "Demon."

Aside from abilities such as "Hellfire," another core ability of a "Demon" was "Corruption."

The "Secrets Suppliant" and "Lawyer" pathways also possessed "Corruption," with much the same effects. It formed a pool of black liquid on the target, instilling corrupt thoughts and producing rust-like impurities in their flesh, leaving parts of their body beyond their control.

The "Lawyer" pathway did not develop its "Corruption" ability much further; it essentially remained at the level of a saint.

The "Secrets Suppliant" pathway's "Corruption," however, could grow stronger step by step, ultimately becoming one of that pathway's primary authorities.

As "Corruption" grew stronger, it could cause a target's flesh and spirit body to become "corrupted" in an abstract sense. Its most common application was to make their flesh and spirit body cease to obey their consciousness, corrupting them into new individuals that opposed the target's will.

The "Devil" pathway's "Corruption" was much like that of the "Secrets Suppliant" pathway. Or rather, it was precisely their similarities in the authority of "Corruption" that made these two pathways secretly interchangeable.

At Sequence 4, however, "Corruption" merely gave the target's flesh certain ideas of its own, causing it to stop obeying their will. It was still far from forming a separate individual.

In addition, a "Demon's" "Corruption" had a supplementary ability: it plunged the target into all sorts of "corrupt" thoughts. No matter how psychologically resilient a target of the same level was, some "corrupt" thoughts would inevitably arise.

This was where it differed from the "Secrets Suppliant" pathway's "Corruption."

The abilities of a "Desire Apostle" had naturally undergone a qualitative change as well. He no longer needed to induce emotions such as fear or joy in a target
