Raphael brought Pain to the True Creator's temple and immediately noticed that Pain seemed to have fallen into a drunken stupor. With hazy eyes full of confusion, Pain stared at the enormous cross ahead and advanced one step at a time.
Raphael poured as much spirituality as he could into the lamp above his head, doing his utmost to bring Pain closer to the cross.
Black ripples appeared beneath the enormous cross. Clearly, the True Creator had sensed a portion of the shadow world beyond his control approaching and had begun to influence it.
Raphael held on with all his strength, escorting Pain all the way to the foot of the mountain beneath the towering cross.
Even after exhausting all his spirituality, he could not make this portion of the shadow world advance another inch.
And so Pain, still walking forward in a daze, soon stepped out of the shadow world.
In an instant, the black ripples beneath the cross began to surge noticeably. A handsome King of Angel with white wings appeared beneath it.
It was the Angel of Fate, Ouroboros. The normally impassive King of Angel looked at Pain with an exceedingly complicated expression-familiarity and estrangement, relief and worry.
Pain seemed to regain some awareness as well, the confusion fading from Pain's face. This was certainly no time to be dazed. Narrowing both eyes, Pain abruptly charged forward and plunged into the black ripples. The enormous cross immediately began to shake violently.
