Naruto used Flying Thunder God to take Mizukage Mei Terumi, who had remained in Amegakure, back home.

At the entrance to Kirigakure, the two said their farewells.

Mei Terumi said sincerely, "Lord Naruto, thank you so much for your help this time. Without you, Kirigakure would truly have suffered a catastrophe!"

Naruto replied modestly, "Lady Mizukage, I benefited from your village's secret technique scrolls, too. It was mutually beneficial, so there's no need to thank me, believe it!"

"Scrolls are just inanimate objects. Only by letting their teachings flourish can we truly put them to good use. I don't know why you left Konoha, nor do I care what the ninja of other villages think of you. He spoke on behalf of Bright Akatsuki rather than Amegakure because the support Naruto enjoyed in Amegakure still came under Pain's banner. He could not yet be considered the village's true leader.

Mei Terumi, however, did not mind any of that.

She had already witnessed Naruto's overwhelming strength, and he was not hostile toward Kirigakure. As the village's Kage, what reason did she have not to seek him out as an ally?

"Then I'll take my leave, Lady Mizukage..."
