Standing before Naruto, Kabuto Yakushi stated his price for the eye exchange.
After a long silence, Naruto quietly unstrapped the Gunbai from his back. Adamantine Sealing Chains slipped from beneath his sleeve and attached to its handle. Holding it, he wore a dangerously friendly smile. "I didn't quite catch that. Could you say it again?"
Naruto's stance made Kabuto Yakushi nervous, but he pushed up his glasses and forced himself to remain calm. "You must have heard about that girl's most recent display. As someone who also pursues the truth, I've developed a tremendous interest in the Byakugan's evolutionary potential. And as someone chosen by Lord Orochimaru, surely you understand that maddening itch of curiosity?"
Naruto tilted his head and asked pointedly, "If you're interested, why don't you capture her yourself instead of asking me?"
Kabuto Yakushi spread his hands. "If I could do it myself, I wouldn't need to ask for help. With the strength that girl demonstrated, who in the Shinobi World today could subdue her? No one but you, Naruto-kun."
Then he added meaningfully, "Besides, I think if you approached her, Naruto-kun, you wouldn't need to use force at all. She would surely come along willingly. After all, everyone knows how she defended you when Pain attacked Konoha."
Naruto said coldly, "So you intend to exploit her feelings for me and trick her into coming to you. Is that it?"
Kabuto Yakushi explained, "No, no, no, it's not a trick. I never intended to hurt her! I only want to unravel the Byakugan's secrets, nothing more. That wouldn't be bad for her either, would it? It would help her control her power!"
Naruto's expression remained unchanged. "That sounds good, but I have one more condition."
