"What did you mean by that, Amon?" Ahriman narrowed his eyes, his expression turning hostile.
But since the speaker was one of the oldest members of the Thousand Sons, the other Thousand Sons warriors did not immediately interrupt. Instead, they waited for Amon to explain himself.
"Was I not clear enough, my brothers?"
"In my view, Ahriman is not going to save Magnus at all. That is not his true intention." Amon waved a hand, speaking in an exceedingly dismissive tone. "And, if I may be frank, do we really need to save Magnus?"
"Watch your words!" A Thousand Son close to Amon immediately spoke up to caution him.
"Let him speak!" Ahriman, however, silenced those voices.
"Have you still not seen it clearly?"
Amon raised his voice. He straightened up and looked around.
"Back then, Magnus destroyed the psychic barrier the Emperor had placed around the Golden Throne because of his arrogance and stupidity.
"He realized he had made a catastrophic mistake, yet he took out his anger by killing Uthizzar, the Temple Lecturer of the Cyclopean Cult who had discovered the secret.
"From that moment on, I knew our primarch had changed completely. He was no longer the humble, knowledge-seeking sage he had once been."
"His boundless research and exploration of the Warp would eventually bring disaster. That was what led to the Burning of Prospero, and to the ceaseless decline of our Legion."
Everyone listened as Amon revealed his true thoughts. Quite a few even nodded along, clearly struck in the heart by his words.
Back when Magnus, knowing he had committed a grave error, shut himself away within the Great Pyramid and allowed the Space Wolves to slaughter the Thousand Sons, many had already become disappointed in their primarch.
Whatever decision Magnus made would have been
