"Mr. Yi, you use an immortal furnace to refine magical treasures?"
Huang Hongchuan had been absorbed in his own thoughts, but Yi Shuyuan's words made him exclaim in surprise.
"Indeed. The Heaven-Turning Furnace can refine elixirs and treasures alike. Is there something wrong with that?"
Yi Shuyuan found his reaction strange as well and carefully sensed the changes within the furnace with his divine sense. Everything seemed perfectly fine.
Beside them, Old Pine softly repeated "Heaven-Turning Furnace," seemingly pondering the meaning of its name.
Seeing Yi Shuyuan's reaction, Huang Hongchuan realized he had worried unnecessarily. He smiled and merely shook his head.
"My knowledge is shallow, and I know too little of the Immortal Dao. Immortals are rarely seen to begin with, and immortal cultivators versed in elixir arts are rarer still. I had never heard of refining treasures in an alchemy furnace before."
Never heard of it?
Yi Shuyuan frowned in thought for a moment, then dismissed the matter. So what if no one had? He saw nothing unusual about it.
When he had read Journey to the West, he had often heard that this or that treasure had been refined in Lord Lao's Eight Trigrams Furnace, so the idea that an alchemy furnace could also refine treasures came naturally to him.
Elixir arts had declined within the Immortal Dao, and few people refined elixirs at all. Even those who did mostly reserved each furnace for one purpose, but that did not mean it could not serve another. There was no need to make such a fuss.
And so Yi Shuyuan spoke half in jest.
"Other people have vast estates and wealth to spare. I'm so poor my pockets jingle with emptiness. Any treasure I own has to serve more than one purpose. I can't afford such luxuries!"
