Hui Mian darted out of the river near the bank, landing on shore in a spray of water.
Hui Mian had been in the E River Water Palace. When Yaksha went to report to Steward Jiang, Hui Mian learned that General Crab had arrived. Though Hui Mian came over, the E River's Aquatic Folk refrained from coming immediately, to avoid disturbing Yi Shuyuan and General Crab.
Apparently having heard some of their earlier conversation, Hui Mian teased him upon emerging from the water.

General Crab cupped his hands toward Hui Mian, showing no embarrassment.

Yi Shuyuan considered this, counted on his fingers to make a divination, then looked up at the sky.
