The Divine Being who had come to report more or less knew what the Heavenly Emperor would ask and could only answer truthfully.

With that explanation, the Heavenly Emperor essentially understood what had happened. Understanding was one thing, however; losing face was another.
Most of those pursuing the pill were actually following other demonic auras and the many tangled currents of Destiny. Once the true Immortal Elixir broke out of Heavenly Battle Mountain, its astonishing speed meant it vanished after little more than a flash among the dark clouds.
But some Monsters, already deeply focused and possessing special Divine Abilities of their own, kept their eyes firmly fixed on the Immortal Elixir's path.
Among them were the two foxes. Their own speed was astonishing as well, making them two of the few pursuers who could keep close behind the Immortal Elixir.

Thunder continued to roll, and fierce winds began to howl.

A torrential downpour kept falling, washing away even the lingering fragrance of Pill Qi.
The two foxes raced on without pause, using Wind Control to skim low over the ground.
