The two spirit monsters blocking the way looked startled, then exchanged a glance.
In earlier years, most people would have scoffed at the term, and even many in the cultivation world would have considered such rumors too far-fetched.
But over the past few decades, anyone among the various paths of cultivation with even reasonably good sources knew that the legendary Immortal Elixirs truly existed in this age.
An Immortal Venerable of the Alchemy Cauldron Lineage had appeared in the world. At the Starwoven Dharma Assembly in the Eastern Domain, nearly a thousand Immortal Elixirs had undergone pill escape. Countless people had witnessed that magnificent spectacle; countless others yearned for it. And countless times, those who could have attended but missed it for one reason or another had beaten their chests and stamped their feet over it.
Since the old woman had said as much, the two spirit monsters dared not take it lightly.

With that, one of the spirit monsters turned and headed toward the pavilion.
A layer of wards still stood outside the pavilion. In fact, they did not enclose the building itself, but spread out in a fan toward its sides and rear. The pavilion was more like an entrance.
Once the spirit monster opened the door and entered, the interior was far livelier than the quiet outside. There was laughter, cursing, shrieking, and even screaming in agony.
Flames burned in the hall, with demon maidens dancing beside them. Rather than the gilded splendor of mortal halls, the building had the feel of a cavern, its interior reliefs all depicting bizarre beasts.
