Panic gripped the demons of Demon City. Demonic auras of every kind intertwined as countless demon creatures stared in horror at the Heavenly Soldiers sweeping down to blot out the sky.
Liao Yaohuang immediately roared.
"My warriors-the Heavenly Realm means to wipe out the entire Demon Race! Are we to let ourselves be slaughtered without fighting back? Kill them!"
In truth, Liao Yaohuang hardly needed to give the order. Demon City was already in chaos, cries of battle ringing out everywhere.
When the Demon King's voice reached them, the demon soldiers finally came to their senses. They conjured weapons and flew out to engage the descending Heavenly Soldiers.
The demons thought exactly as their king had said: if they did not resist, they would surely be slaughtered.
Transformed demon creatures and numerous Great Demons flew out as well, locking into battle with the divine generals.

Streams of divine light descended, becoming companies of Heavenly Soldiers that rode clouds and wind toward the enemy. Some demon soldiers met them in battle, but still more demon creatures scattered and fled.

Streaks of light landed on nearby streets and rooftops. Heavenly Soldiers glared in every direction. Every demon they saw bristled with viciousness, their demonic auras unable to hide beneath the illumination of heavenly lightning.
