My wife had been feeling dizzy for the past two days, sometimes even while standing still, so we went to the hospital to get her checked out.
Thankfully, it wasn't anything too serious. They said her vestibular system was damaged, but the damage was fairly severe, so they told her to be admitted right away for further tests and treatment.
The first thing that came to mind was that move Guevaru used in Baki, damaging someone's cochlea to make them lose their balance, but apparently this wasn't quite the same thing.
I hadn't gotten out of bed until the afternoon to begin with. Then I went back and forth to the hospital to drop things off, picked up the kid, and headed straight back to the village instead of staying in town. Between helping with homework, recording jump-rope practice, and recording myself teaching the broadcast exercises to upload, it was past eight before I knew it.
Elementary school kids have so much fucking stuff to do these days. My wife used to handle most of it, and having to do it all myself out of nowhere was a goddamn nightmare.
Then it was time to sleep again. Since I'd gone straight back to the village and it was a longer trip, I'd have to get up a little after six tomorrow morning.
Going back to the village was really the only option. That way, my parents could help with breakfast and dinner, and I could avoid the racket upstairs during those golden hours for sleep.
