The sky, originally clear and cloudless for thousands of miles, abruptly brightened. Then, amid the panic of fleeing beasts and scattering birds, a low rumble of thunder rolled across it.
Countless golden rays appeared out of thin air, and another sun abruptly hung high in the sky.
"Heavens, look over there!"
"Th-the sun... there's another one!"
Within ten thousand miles, every mortal was stunned by this bizarre sight.
"What's happening? There's an ominous aura coming from over there!"
In cities and aristocratic clan compounds everywhere, Spirit Tamers at Earth Rank and above were likewise utterly horrified.
They emerged from their lodges and buildings to gaze into the distance, only to see a blazing sun hanging high overhead, identical to the real sun beside it.
But as they channeled spirit essence into their eyes to filter out the glare, they finally made out a tiny, bird-shaped figure beating its wings, racing onward amid fierce golden rays that seemed poised to set the entire sky ablaze.
These were, of course, Venerable Scarlet and the Shadow King, who had escaped from Guye Grotto-Heaven.
"There seems to be something behind it, too!"
Suddenly, someone else in the city exclaimed in surprise.
This time, even mortals, let alone Earth Rank Spirit Tamers, could clearly make out its form.
Across the boundless sky, the blue backdrop gradually turned gray, as though countless clouds and mists were gathering and dispersing without pattern, or raging ocean waves were sweeping onward without cease.
An enormous, lifelike giant formed entirely from dense frost mist, ice crystals, and snowflakes strode through the air, running after that sun.
"Calamity, calamity! Two suns in the sky!"
