Even the smallest were as thick as a child's arm. The largest could not fit into the Treasure Chests at all; they had been secured in wooden frames, their caps cut off, and hauled in by Triangular Rhinoceroses.
If that had been all, these would merely have been Spirit Materials considered precious treasures at the Human Rank. Though each possessed extraordinary qualities, they certainly would not have warranted disturbing so many mighty figures, much less having Fang Qianyuan come out in person to announce the news.
Everyone's gaze was soon drawn to a force of Spirit Essence contained within the lingzhi. Looking closely, they discovered what seemed to be tiny, doll-like figures, each the size of a palm, nestled deep inside.
Most of these little figures were translucent, much like Flower Fairies. They lay curled up asleep where the caps joined the stalks, apparently still growing.
A few, however, had already developed true consciousness. They watched the surrounding Spirit Tamers with frightened expressions, trembling all over.
They looked like fair, tender-skinned three-year-old children, only in miniature, with timid expressions and an endearingly innocent air.
