The sphere bore a restriction that repelled the formation on the platform. A mysterious spiritual force held it suspended in the air, where it shone like the sun, radiating boundless light.

His father, Fang Hai, had described this scene to him. Back then, Fang Hai had climbed onto the platform and touched the stone sphere, whereupon it had abruptly split open, revealing the treasure inside.

Once he finished painting, Fang Qianyuan put away the scroll, gave the broken stele one last, lingering look, and headed outside without hesitation.
