Chapter 166: The removal experiment and "Wukong"
The Monkey King and Lü Bing, flown in on an urgent special flight, were now at Research Institute No. 3, directly under Kyoto's Special Security Team.
Lü Bing's condition looked critical. Even the medical staff had thought he would not last much longer, yet somehow he had survived the journey.
Another team was treating the Monkey King's wounds again and revising his treatment plan, while Lü Bing lay inside a large reinforced-glass enclosure.
He lay flat on a bed inside, his head and neck held at a fixed angle by restraints.
A blood transfusion line had already been inserted into one hand, but the flow had not yet been started.
Several mechanical arms stood inside the glass enclosure, while a monitor beside it continuously displayed detailed scans of his entire body.
"Prepare to remove the mutated entity. All nonessential personnel, move behind the safety line!"
The research director overseeing the procedure gave the order to the surrounding soldiers, and some withdrew from the laboratory to stand guard outside.
Only four researchers remained in the room.
"Introduce the new experimental host."
A small hatch in the reinforced-glass enclosure opened, and a black-haired wild boar held in metal restraints was moved inside, stopping less than half a meter from Lü Bing.
"Stimulate the experimental host to wake it."
The research assistant beside him quickly worked the controls, and one mechanical arm approached the quiet boar, whose eyes were closed.
After a crackling burst of electricity, the boar immediately jolted awake.
"Squeal! Squeeeal!"
Frantic squeals rang out as the boar struggled violently, but the metal rings holding it did not budge.
"Mechanical arms one and two, ready. Double isolation walls, ready. Begin removal!"
With a trace of tension, the researchers worked swiftly at the main console.
