Several stainless-steel rolling racks stood beside the table, loaded with bags, boxes, and platters of assorted food and dishes, ranging from bread, steamed buns, and jam to cooked foods, snacks, and drinks. Several large rice cookers stood nearby as well.
Replenishing dishes throughout the meal had already become a tradition at the Association's communal dinners. With enough people present, these seemingly enormous quantities of food were usually finished in a single sitting.
Mumu's branches reached inside through several openings, including the vents and passages outside the corridor. Symbiosis's wooden feeding organs were ready too, though it generally only ate a token amount to sample the flavors.
