After a few messages, his two friends were only mildly curious. They asked a few questions and discovered that Ding Yi really had signed up.
They found it amusing, but neither intended to sign up with him. They simply asked about the Skyward Martial Arts Hall as an entertaining curiosity. When they learned that Ding Yi planned to arrive before five the next morning for his first morning class, they found it even more unbelievable.
Both teased Ding Yi, who loved sleeping in, asking whether he had lost his mind. They insisted that he tell them about the training afterward so they could see what was so miraculous about it.
After showering, Ding Yi lay in bed and read their jokes on his phone's messaging app. He knew they had paid no attention at all to his urging them to sign up.
But he had no way to explain what he had witnessed that day. Without experiencing that imposing presence firsthand, it was hard to convey in words. Even if he managed it, people might not believe him. His two coworkers clearly did not.
Normally, he played games and watched videos every day, never even considering bed until after midnight. But tomorrow he had to get up before five. Staying up that late tonight might leave him groggy, and he did not know whether that would affect his lessons.

He checked the time. It was only a little past eight, but to be in better shape the
