Chapter 248: A bloody calamity
It was Su Su's afternoon shift. There were visitors inside the House of Destiny, and others waiting in line outside.
Thanks to the late-summer heat wave over the past few days, the weather had turned unusually hot again, so there weren't many people queuing in this spot without any shade.
It was somewhat hot inside the House of Destiny too. After all, it was essentially a large tent. Even with air conditioning, it was only a little cooler than outside, since there was no proper barrier at the entrance. Su Su absolutely hated transparent plastic door curtains, so the frequently opened tent entrance had become the biggest source of escaping cool air.
Fortunately, although such small temperature changes no longer bothered Su Su herself, she still had some conscience. She aimed the air conditioner directly at the customer area. That way, even if the tent's average temperature remained high, the visitors' section was still fairly cool.
"Just a moment, please!"
She apologized to the couple in front of her, then poked her head out of the tent to look around. It wasn't a holiday, and the amusement park wasn't particularly busy today. Only four groups were waiting outside: three couples and two men who probably weren't planning to have their fortunes told separately either.
"Um, why don't you all come inside?"
Some of the people in line were still chatting. The couple at the front hadn't seen the previous couple come out, so they assumed it wasn't their turn yet. Only after Su Su called twice did they notice that the "witch" had emerged from the House of Destiny.
"Come on in, everyone. It's awfully hot outside, and there's air conditioning in here. We'll do everyone's reading together today."
