Chapter 269: All they could do was hold it off
"Damn it! That's a magic power reaction!!! Whatever's in there isn't an ordinary Demon!"
The three reservists' arms burned fiercely. Some of their magic power had already flowed into their heads, allowing them to faintly sense the ominous magic power inside the distant building.
"Shit!! If East Tokyo's police fail, can we hold it back?"
"We have to try first! Contact the Association and call for reinforcements!"
Huateng Dao Yi held a precious Echo Flower seed in his hand. A dozen seconds later, the seed withered and turned gray.
Creatures that had awakened magic power varied in strength, but they tended to be stranger than the last, with all manner of bizarre abilities. The three men could only steel themselves for battle.
This was especially true of Huateng Dao Yi. As a Japanese man, he desperately hoped to prevent a major disaster in East Tokyo.
After sending their distress signal, the three Silent Knight Order reservists prepared to put their lives on the line tonight.
The Demon was still an unknown entity, and might well be a high-ranking magical creature.
They weren't blindly overestimating themselves, determined to stand against an unstoppable force. Their intention was to give everything they had to gather intelligence, ideally rescuing a few police officers who could explain what was happening.
Clashes between magic powers were extremely dangerous. Unless one side utterly overwhelmed the other, anything could happen.
The Association had so few Magic Controllers. If whoever they sent couldn't obtain firsthand information and ended up dying here, Dawn would suffer a tremendous loss.
