Chapter 301: Annihilation
"Be careful. Their bodies are burning hot!"
The steel needles had sunk deep into the ground, leaving very little protruding outside Peter's and Nisso's bodies.
But their muscles had clamped tightly around the needles. Only a little blood seeped through the gaps, and the Neumann family had to use all their strength just to pull Nisso free.
"This amount of bleeding isn't right. Why is there so little?"
Karl voiced his surprise midway through. He noticed that Nisso's muscles were contracting fiercely around those horrific wounds, but that alone could not explain the strangely small amount of blood.
They could not see Magic Power, so naturally they had no idea that its remnants still covered the two men, helping their bodies preserve their faint signs of life.
But this was no time to investigate. They strained again and pulled Peter out of the bed of needles.
Frank carefully searched their pockets and finally found several small leather pouches on their belts. Inside were a few petal-like things and a small handful of round red fruits.
"Is this the Flower of Life? Are we supposed to apply it like an herbal poultice, or feed it to them?"
That was indeed a problem.
"There's too little to apply to their wounds. It must be for eating. Quick, put it in their mouths."
Karl looked at his family, their hands covered in blood, and gritted his teeth before making the call, pretending he was absolutely certain.
"Wait, crush it first!"
He took the petals from Frank and squeezed them hard a couple of times. A powerful, fresh fragrance wafted out, invigorating all four of them.
"Frank, pry their mouths open!"
