In the Special Security Team's tactical operations hall, Tao Xingzhi almost bit through the cigarette in his mouth. His fists were already clenched tightly inside his pockets.
He had dispatched his most capable subordinates at the first opportunity. Their first task was to ascertain the situation at certain critical locations in the capital.
It was all too sudden. They had thought they had at least another month, only for it to arrive without warning.
With communications disrupted, they had no idea what was happening in most places outside.
In that brief span of just over a minute, quite a few satellites had already been confirmed lost.
Aside from those urgently trying to establish contact and locate signals from the remaining satellites, many technicians in the hall were watching Tao Xingzhi.
The man everyone relied on spat out his cigarette. He quietly relaxed the fists in his pockets before taking his hands out. His face was taut but free of sweat, and his calm, composed demeanor did much to steady the technicians' nerves.
He turned toward the tactical advisers gathered around the edge of the tabletop electronic display behind him.
