Chapter 389: Silent rage
Only after killing the Shadow Domain being did Blaze and the others breathe a small sigh of relief.
Given their condition, turning the tables on a Magic Controller had pushed them to their limits. It might have taken only a few strikes, but the effort had been enormous.
And their own magic power was a nonrenewable resource. Afraid their attacks would not be strong enough, they had poured in more than necessary. The eight who had attacked had used up well over half their reserves.
"We were lucky to ambush it and kill it at such a small cost."
Brown took several deep breaths, releasing all the tension that had built up.
"Mackey, how are you?"
"Just a scratch!"
He glanced at his right arm. The magic power left in his body had already helped seal off the artery, while the Flower of Life's power had formed a thin membrane over the wound.
"We can't stay here any longer."
Despite his reluctance, Blaze decisively ordered a retreat.
All sixteen could only turn toward the city center and solemnly give a Heart-Clasp Salute together, bidding their final farewell to the Mystic Realm Guardian.
It was not that they did not want to press farther in. They simply no longer had the strength. Even getting out of the city would require caution now.
Seeds appeared in their hands.
Blaze held an Echo Flower seed. With a thought, he activated it and sent out a report that magic beings had appeared-and that they were Shadow Domain beings.
Several other Reserve Members of the Knights Order used what magic power they had left to gently stimulate their seeds. The demon seeds immediately sprouted and leaped from their hands like fleas.
Each found a demon's corpse and burrowed into it.
"That
