Chapter 472: The World Collapsed
The moment that pulling sensation arose, the Doolin Beasts abandoned their fallen companions and fled into the distance.

Another ripple spread through the air.
The second lieutenant instinctively shouted.
"Run! Hurry! Get out of here!"
Four soldiers reacted automatically, taking the wounded under their arms from either side and dragging them along as they fled.
"Bafi, leave all your C4 behind. Keep it simple-set a five-minute countdown!"
Even an idiot could tell something had gone wrong with the Contact Point. Whatever was coming through, he hoped those charges, powerful enough to demolish fortified defenses, would give it something to remember.
Without having to rig an extended fuse, the convenient rotary timer was simple and direct. It took only seconds to set.
One soldier opened his backpack and connected the wiring between three bombs as he ran. Then he turned the dial on the middle bomb to five minutes and tossed them onto the ground.
The Doolin Beasts were incredibly fast and had already vanished into the forest, while the human soldiers were still inside the town.
Fortunately, they had not been near the town center, so getting out would not take too long.
Since they needed the fastest escape route, they inevitably followed the same path as some of the Doolin Beasts.
Five minutes was neither particularly long nor particularly short. By the time the soldiers crossed the forest boundary, the timer's dial was nearly at the end.
